Learning Styles

Learning Styles divide by 3 :

  1. Cooperative Learning
  2. Discovery Learning
  3. Constructivist Learning

Definition of Learning - " acquiring new/ modifying & reinforcing existing".

What are Learning Styles? " an individual's unique approach to learning based on strengths, weaknesses, and preferences."

DISCOVERY LEARNING

purpose :
 - to get learners to think for themselves.
- to help learners discover knowledge is formulated
- to promote higher order thinking.

characteristics 
  1. teachers set a stage for knowledge discovery
  2. teachers reward exploration & independent thought.
  3. learners accept the challenge of finding out things for themselves discovering knowledge.

  • when preparing - determine the general purpose of the lesson. Plan the discovery lesson well.

  • when delivering - present the challenging situation, Utilize questions that will promote discovery
  • when closing -provide opportunity to use the new knowledge. Help learners to organize &7 phase what they have conclude; the concepts, facts etc.
